Acceptable Use

You may

• Check usernames, emails, links, apps, photos and phone numbers connected to your own child.
• Check people, accounts or links that are contacting your child.
• Use the setup guides for any device or app in your household.

You may not

• Investigate adults who are not a safety concern for your child, including partners, ex-partners, neighbours, colleagues or public figures.
• Attempt to find anyone's home address or live location.
• Access or attempt to access accounts that are not yours.
• Harass, stalk, or intimidate anyone with information obtained through SafetyKit.
• Use SafetyKit for employment screening, tenant screening, credit decisions or any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
• Use registry results to confront, harass or discriminate against anyone. Registries exist for public safety, and misuse is a crime in most states.
• Add a child you are not the parent or legal guardian of, unless that parent invited you into their household.
• Upload photos of children other than your own, or any intimate image.

If you see something serious

If a check suggests a child is being groomed, exploited or threatened, SafetyKit will point you to the right resource (NCMEC CyberTipline, Take It Down, local police or the 988 line). Please use them. SafetyKit is a guide, not a first responder.

SafetyKit's AI is instructed to decline requests outside this scope, and every check is logged to your account. Violations result in termination and may be reported to authorities.
